To help past alumni with any endeavours that will grow African capacity in Computational Neuroscience.

Applications are open throughout the year, and are generally reviewed on a 1-2 month basis.

Once

You can apply each funding cycle (i.e. once per year). However, preference will be given to Imbizo alumni applying for the first time.

There is no maximum, but, as the funds are limited, we don’t usually give more than 500 USD.

Once we have received your application, it will be sent to and evaluated by the Imbizo’s Board of Trustees. We will get back to you as promptly as we can, usually within three weeks after the cutoff date.

Pretty much anything that will help grow African capacity in Computational Neuroscience. For example, supporting the cost of your studies, such as registration and university fees; conference registration and associated travel expenses; travel expenses associated with a Doctoral position in another country; cloud storage or computing costs for your research.

Equipment such as laptops.

It will be paid into your bank account once all necessary documents have been provided by you. These typically include a copy of passport and a completed invoice (we will give you a template). It can take up to 5 weeks for funding to reach some bank accounts.

We ask you to please send us a summary within 6 months of receiving the funding. We use your report to update Simons, who provides the funds for this grant.
